If you would like to sell insurance in Alaska, you must pass a licensing exam. To prepare for the licensing exam, you should take an insurance course.

Licensing exams are provided by Pearson VUE. An exam fee must be paid at the time of reservation by credit card, debit card, voucher or electronic check. You can make an exam reservation through the following methods:

If you are taking an insurance exam for the first time, you must be fingerprinted. Fingerprinting services are available at the Anchorage testing center. If you are testing elsewhere, you will need to contact your local department of Public Safety.
After passing the exam, complete an application through NIPR to apply for your license.
